Terms & Conditions

Beacon Bikes: Terms and Conditions of Hire

The Hirer agrees to hire the specified bicycle and accessories (to be henceforth referred to as “equipment”), to pay the cost of the hire, and accept the terms on this form.

Payment and Security deposit

All rentals are payable in advance and in full to Beacon Bikes Ltd which accepts payment by credit card, debit card, or PayPal. Group bookings can be paid by bank transfer against an invoice providing this is agreed in advance with Beacon Bikes Ltd.

The Hirer will be required to provide credit or debit card details when hiring from Beacon Bikes Ltd, against which a pre-advised Security Deposit shall be applied before the hire of the equipment commences and shall be cancelled upon return of the equipment, subject to the following terms.

The deposit will be held against the loss, theft, damage or failure to return the equipment by the specified time and date on the rental agreement. If not returned by the time and date specified on the rental agreement, the cost of hire shall be charged on a pro rata basis until the equipment is returned.

Any late return charges, replacement and repair costs or insurance excess payments may be deducted from the Security Deposit.

In the event that the costs are in excess of the Security Deposit, the Hirer shall reimburse Beacon Bikes the full costs relating to loss, theft, damage or failure to return the equipment over and above the Security Deposit.

The Hirer will be held fully liable for any loss, theft or damage to all equipment and repairs and replacements will be charged at full market value.

Collection

Equipment booked and paid for in advance will be available for collection at the pre-arranged time and location as agreed at the time of booking. If, for any unforeseen reason, Beacon Bikes Ltd is not able to provide the equipment ordered or an equivalent alternative, then a full refund will be given or vouchers for an alternative date.

For bookings under 6 people, a minimum of 72 hours’ notice must be given for cancellation of an advance booking by email or telephone, otherwise payment will be taken in full.

For group bookings over 6 people, at least 2 weeks’ notice must be given for cancellation of an advance booking by email or telephone to receive a full refund. If notice of a cancellation is given between 2 weeks and 72hrs before the booking, 50% of the full cost of the booking will be refunded. If notice of cancellation is given within 72hrs of an advance booking, payment will be taken in full.

Should the Hirer request, bikes can be changed to an upgraded model subject to stock availability for an additional, pro-rata, charge which will be taken on the day of hire.

Unless previously agreed with Beacon Bikes Ltd, all equipment must be returned within the specified hire period. A charge for late return will be applied on a pro-rata basis based on the Beacon Bikes Ltd seasonal price list.
